Oceans Day 2018 - Descanso Bay Regional Park
Celebrating our 10th Anniversary of Oceans Day festivities at Descanso Bay Regional Park with art and music in the Park. Learn about our marine environment by spending an active, educational afternoon.
- Interacting with sea animals via live touch tanks
- Viewing new art displays by local artists
- Talking to marine biologists about their work and peer through microscopes at the wonders of sea life
- Checking out local sea life via a beach seine led by VIU biologists
- Playing children's games and storytelling
- Checking out the interactive information booths
- Listening to live music by the Mount Benson Ceili Band
- Enjoying a picnic and time at the beach with friends and family
Make it a complete outdoor adventure by walking, cycling or taking the Gabriola community bus (GERTIE) to the park. Or come camping with us for the weekend at Descanso Bay Regional Park!
