This is to advise that a Public Hearing with respect to proposed "Regional District of Nanaimo Electoral Area 'F' Zoning and Subdivision Amendment Bylaw No. 1285.31, 2018" affecting properties in Electoral Area 'F' will be held:

What is the Zoning Amendment about?
If adopted, Amendment Bylaw No. 1285.31 would amend existing zoning regulations to allow for "Cannabis Production" in the Industrial 1 Zone and Industrial 3 Zone of Bylaw 1285. The proposed bylaw amendments would also include new or revised definitions and amendments to the general regulations section to reflect the upcoming legalization of cannabis. The proposed bylaw amendments also permit "Cannabis Production" on lands within the Agricultural Land Reserve and the Industrial 2 Zone that currently permit "Medical Marihuana Production".Where can I get more information?
A copy of the proposed bylaw and relevant documents may be inspected at the hearing or prior to the hearing until February 6, 2018 at the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) office located at 6300 Hammond Bay Road, Nanaimo. Please contact the Planning Department Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with extended business hours until 5:30 on Wednesdays.The Public Hearing for this bylaw will be chaired by Director Fell or his alternate as a delegate of the Board. All persons who consider their interest to be affected by the proposed bylaw shall be afforded an opportunity to be heard in person or by written submission at the Public Hearing. Written submissions can also be provided in advance of the Public Hearing, in which case must be received at the RDN office by 4:30 pm Monday, February 5, 2018 to ensure their inclusion in the public record.
