Do We Need to Worry About Water Supply in the RDN?
We think of our region as having a very large supply of water, especially during those rainy winter days! Unfortunately, Canadians have developed a lifestyle where we use large amounts of water every day. Fact On average, each person in BC uses enough water to fill a large soaker tub; every day! Adding up all the water that's used for our showers, dishwashers, lawns and laundry means that each of us uses about 490 litres per day. Time for Conservation Have you ever wondered what would happen if a water shortage occurred? To protect our water resources we all need to start thinking about how to reduce the amount we use. Please explore these pages to learn how to be WaterSmart and help others learn too!
