Purpose Of Proposed Application

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) has received a referral for a Non-Medical Cannabis Retail Store Licence Application from the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB). The applicant proposes to establish a provincially licensed store to sell non-medical cannabis within an existing building located at 2254 Alberni Highway in Coombs.

The purpose of the Public Meeting is to introduce the proposed Non-Medical Cannabis Retail Store Licence Application and to invite comments from the public regarding this application. A summary of the comments received at this meeting will be provided to the Electoral Area Services Committee and Regional Board as part of the application review process. The RDN Board will consider comments received and the general community impacts of the proposed store in a recommendation made to the LCRB.

This Non-Medical Cannabis Retail Store Licence Application may be viewed at the offices of the Planning Department located at 6300 Hammond Bay Road, Nanaimo, BC, Monday to Friday (except public holidays) 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with extended business hours on Wednesdays until 5:30 pm, from the date of this notice to the date of the Public Meeting.
