Volunteer Opportunities
Emergency Social Services (ESS) is a valued part of the Regional District of Nanaimo's Emergency Program. In this community, and in communities across the province, dedicated ESS volunteers are considered to be the heart of disaster response.
Have you ever given thought to how you would like to give back to your community? ESS has a solid base of volunteers; however since people sometimes move or their family obligations change, there is always a need for more energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join the team. The qualities necessary in an ESS volunteer include:
- A concern for people affected by disaster
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work well in a team
- If you want to volunteer and are interested in accredited training from the Justice Institute of BC, contact one of the ESS teams listed below;
- Residents of Nanoose Bay, Coombs, Hilliers, Errington, Dashwood, Englishman River, French Creek, Shaw Hill, Deep Bay, Bowser may contact Oceanside ESS [email protected]
- South Wellington, Cassidy, Cedar, or Extension residents may contact [email protected]
