The Regional Growth Strategy
The Regional Growth Strategy (RGS) is a strategic plan to establish a consistent and coordinated approach to growth and land use throughout the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN), including Nanaimo, Parksville, Qualicum Beach, Lantzville and the RDN Electoral Areas.
The Purpose of the Project
Certain types of amendments to the RGS may go through a minor amendment process. The minor amendment process is simpler and faster and requires fewer approvals than the regular process. One type of minor amendment is a change resulting from a full official community plan review process. However, due to the way in which the provision is worded, there is some uncertainty as to what is meant by a full official community plan review process. The proposed changes to the RGS are intended to address the uncertainty.
